{"id":315,"date":"2016-10-26T21:22:45","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T01:22:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/?p=315"},"modified":"2016-10-26T21:22:45","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T01:22:45","slug":"ssr-project-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/2016\/10\/26\/ssr-project-1\/","title":{"rendered":"SSR Project #1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I review the assignments\u00a0students submitted for their first card-marking period&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/image.slidesharecdn.com\/mamse2011x-110317220118-phpapp01\/95\/mamse-2011-13-728.jpg?cb=1300399310\">sustained silent reading<\/a> novel, I would like to offer the following links to help students with some trends I have been noticing.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bucks.edu\/media\/bcccmedialibrary\/tutoring\/documents\/writing\/Identifying%20themes.pdf\">Identifying Theme in Literature<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/dearbornschools.org\/document\/d\/1-ANNInimCs3FrDUX6jLRINxyuNYiuIY2SK7geo8d1iM\/edit?usp=sharing\">Author&#8217;s Craft<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/owrc\/Handouts\/How%20to%20Write%20a%20Summary.pdf\">Writing a Summary\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/curriculumdepot.wikispaces.com\/file\/view\/Making_Connections_Strateg.pdf\">Making a Connection\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As always, these areas for growth will be addressed also in class, but in the interim, I invite you to make use of the links above to take an active role in your learning.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about reading strategies, here&#8217;s a great link to information about <a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/smsabbagh\/Downloads\/CLOSE_READING_Handout.pdf\">close and critical reading<\/a> (strategies which should be applied while reading their weekly article).<\/p>\n<p>Last Friday (10\/21) students\u00a0went to the library to take their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/sabbaghela\/2016\/10\/16\/sri-testing-is-this-friday-october-21st\/\">SRI Test<\/a> to determine their <a href=\"https:\/\/encompass.ousd.k12.ca.us\/files\/SRI_-_Lexile_Scores_Chart.pdf\">Lexile Score<\/a>.
