The fourth graders are learning about the history of the Mexican sombrero.<\/p>\n
They are creating their own using clay. \u00a0Students had to practice how to make a pinch pot and a slab with oil clay before they start using earth clay. They have to learn\u00a0how to score and add slip in order to attach the upside down pinch pot to the slab. \u00a0At the end, the students design their sombrero using different tools.<\/p>\n
The students are asking me everyday if I fired the sombreros or not.<\/p>\n
