\n\u200bWelcome to first grade! I am looking forward to an exciting year. You will be amazed by how much your child will grow this year physically, emotionally and academically. I hope to work closely with each family. It is very important that we communicate often throughout the year. Please be sure to sign up for my blog at the Oakman website. There you will find lots of useful information about classroom activities, homework and upcoming events.
\n\u200bPlease look for a folder to come home with your child everyday. It will contain completed work, homework, notes from school and the community. Please be sure to go through your child\u2019s folder with them each day. It is the best way for you to stay informed and in touch with what your child is doing each day. Please email me right away to say \u201chello\u201d so that I will have your email address in my files.
\n\u200bYour child will be bringing a healthy snack to school everyday. Please be sure to keep it simple and healthy. DO NOT SEND IN CANDY, COOKIES, RICE CRISPY TREATS, MUFFINS, CUPCAKES OR ANY KIND OF CHIPS. This snack is eaten during our work time and should not interrupt your child\u2019s learning.
