{"id":887,"date":"2016-04-08T10:54:14","date_gmt":"2016-04-08T14:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=887"},"modified":"2016-04-08T10:54:14","modified_gmt":"2016-04-08T14:54:14","slug":"friday-newsletter-4-8-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2016\/04\/08\/friday-newsletter-4-8-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 4-8-16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Save the Date &#8211; Field Trip!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Young 5&#8217;s will be taking a field trip to the Detroit Zoo on Monday, April 25th<\/p>\n<p>We will need chaperons! \u00a0Permission slips will come home next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science Fair Boot Camp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thursday, April 21st, 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Come see the display boards of student projects and visit different areas of the school that will have hands on\u00a0Science activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our new high-frequency words this week were, &#8220;me&#8221; and &#8220;my&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In math we focused on &#8220;flat&#8221; 2 dimensional shapes, next week we will discuss 3 dimensional shapes.<\/p>\n<p>We wrote in our journals<\/p>\n<p>We worked in our poem books<\/p>\n<p>We attended an assembly, music concert and PBIS reward party<\/p>\n<p>In handwriting we are working with &#8220;slanted letters&#8221; (we practiced letter K this week)<\/p>\n<p>In Science we walked through the Scientific Process with our &#8220;Growing Gummy Worms&#8221; experiment.<\/p>\n<p>We visited Mrs. Schropp&#8217;s room today while they put new windows in our classroom. \u00a0Mrs. Schropp&#8217;s class will visit us on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information Save the Date &#8211; Field Trip!
