{"id":63,"date":"2013-09-27T11:14:16","date_gmt":"2013-09-27T15:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=63"},"modified":"2013-09-27T11:14:16","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T15:14:16","slug":"newsletter-9-27-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2013\/09\/27\/newsletter-9-27-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Newsletter 9-27-13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">PBIS (Positive Behavior System) Reward<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Students who stayed on green and had less than 6 yellows (warnings) during the month of September will be rewarded with a Popsicle party on Tuesday, October 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Later Start<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>There is a late start Wednesday, October 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 School will begin at 9:35 a.m.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Family Picture Wall<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We are still finishing framing and hanging our family pictures and there are a couple families missing!\u00a0 Please send in a family picture if you haven\u2019t done so already.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Scholastic Book Orders<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please find in the red folder a letter regarding a Scholastic Book order and the directions for ordering online.<\/p>\n<p>Book orders for October will be due October 11<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BLOG Additions<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please find on our classroom blog new pages with resources for PBIS, Scholastic Book Club directions and Classroom Resources.<\/p>\n<p>Under classroom resources I have posted a link for an Alpha friends alphabet chart.\u00a0 Feel free to print and hang on the fridge! J<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Field Trip<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please find in the red folder a field trip permission slip for the Plymouth Apple Orchard!\u00a0 Permission slips and payment are due no later than October 4<sup>th<\/sup>!<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">October Reading Logs<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Read with your student at least 20 out of the 31 nights in the month of October and your student will be rewarded with a personal pizza from PIZZA HUT!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What We Did This Week<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our new Alpha Friend was \u201cReggie Rooster\u201d \u2013 Rr<\/li>\n<li>We continued to write stories in our writer\u2019s workshop books.\u00a0 We are working on our pictures and adding more detail.<\/li>\n<li>We worked in our Poem Books<\/li>\n<li>We are reading about \u00a0and discussing the season of Fall.<\/li>\n<li>We made Fall trees.<\/li>\n<li>We sorted leaves.<\/li>\n<li>In Math we continue to practice counting on our Number Grid.\u00a0 We are also learning to use our whiteboards so we can learn and practice writing our numbers.<\/li>\n<li>In Math we will also begin exploring patterns.<\/li>\n<li>We began \u201cRead to Self\u201d and our class has 3 minutes of stamina built!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a great weekend!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Ruselink<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PBIS (Positive Behavior System) Reward Students who stayed on green and had less than 6 yellows (warnings) during the month of September will be rewarded with a Popsicle party on Tuesday, October 1st.
