{"id":580,"date":"2015-05-01T10:59:07","date_gmt":"2015-05-01T14:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=580"},"modified":"2015-05-01T10:59:07","modified_gmt":"2015-05-01T14:59:07","slug":"5-1-15-friday-newsletter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2015\/05\/01\/5-1-15-friday-newsletter\/","title":{"rendered":"5-1-15 Friday Newsletter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Science Fair Projects Due May 6th<\/p>\n<p>Science Fair Bootcamp May 7th<\/p>\n<p>Muffins for Mom May 8th<\/p>\n<p>Late Start May 13<\/p>\n<p>No School May 22 and May 25<\/p>\n<p><strong>Popcorn Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our class is responsible for the next &#8220;Popcorn Friday&#8221; on May 5th.<\/p>\n<p>We need at least 3 parents to prepare and deliver popcorn to the classroom. \u00a0A PTA parent will be there to show you how to use the popcorn machine. \u00a0This usually lasts from 9-11:30.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested and available please comment below and I will turn in your names to the coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>What We Did This Week<\/p>\n<p>Our new high frequency word was &#8220;and&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We wrote in our journals using the word &#8220;and&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We rotated through Daily 5 but those students who usually take home a reading bag did not get a new book this week. \u00a0We used the small group time to work on our Mother&#8217;s Day projects and finish our Publishing Center books.<\/p>\n<p>In Science we will begin to talk about living things and parts of a plant<\/p>\n<p>In math we continue to practice telling time to the hour andwe have learned a new addition game<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Iversile worked with us on steps to take if somebody is bothering us &#8211; not tattling<\/p>\n<p>In handwriting we worked on capital R (slanted line)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information Important Dates: Science Fair Projects Due May 6th Science Fair Bootcamp May 7th Muffins for Mom May 8th Late Start May 13 No School May 22 and May 25 Popcorn Volunteers Our class is responsible for the next &#8220;Popcorn Friday&#8221; on May 5th.
