from Friday (9-13)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">PBIS (Positive Behavior) <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We started with our positive behavior marking system this week.\u00a0 If a student breaks a classroom rule the following will happen:<\/p>\n<p>1<sup>st<\/sup> time a rule is broken they will move to yellow =\u00a0 <b>\u201cSLOW DOWN\u201d<\/b> (warning)<\/p>\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup> time a rule is broken they will move to orange =\u00a0 <b>\u201cContact Co-Pilot\u201d<\/b>\u00a0 (time out or time out from recess)<\/p>\n<p>3<sup>rd<\/sup> time a rule is broken they will move to red =\u00a0 <b>\u201cTurbulence\u201d<\/b>\u00a0 (sent to the principal)<\/p>\n<p>At any time if the student is found improving their behavior they may move their clip back to green = <b>\u201cGREAT JOB!\u00a0 FLYING HIGH\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Your student\u2019s behavior report will come home daily on the back of their red communication folder.\u00a0 Please sign and return the behavior chart daily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>*** Our first reward for the month of September is extra playground time and POPSICLES!\u00a0 The student earns this reward by moving their clip less than 6 times.\u00a0 This reward will happen at the end of September.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Snack vs. Lunch<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please remember to pack 1-2 small snacks daily.<\/p>\n<p>Please discuss with your child what is packed for snack and what is packed for lunch.\u00a0 Please try to label their snack or pack it separate from the lunch box.<\/p>\n<p>Students are welcome to bring and leave <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">water bottles<\/span> in their locker for throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Special Classes<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The following is our special class schedule.\u00a0 Please remember gym shoes on gym days!<\/p>\n<p><b>MONDAY:\u00a0 Gym<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>TUESDAY:\u00a0 Music, Library Book Check Out<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY:\u00a0 Gym<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY:\u00a0 Music, Art and Media Center<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Open House<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Open House for Lindbergh Elementary will be Thursday, September\u00a0 19<sup>th<\/sup> 6-7:30 p.m.\u00a0 Come tour your student\u2019s classroom and the school building and meet teachers and staff.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Family Picture<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We would like to decorate our classroom and make it feel \u201clike home.\u201d\u00a0 Please send in an unframed 3&#215;5 picture of your family at your convenience.\u00a0 We will be making and decorating frames in class for them.<\/p>\n<p>**We would like to do this in time for Open House!<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Library Book Checkout<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We visited the library and checked out our first library book this past Tuesday.\u00a0 We discussed how to take care of our book and keep it safe from damage.\u00a0 These books need to be returned every Tuesday in order to check out a new book.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Book Fair<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We will visit the Scholastic Book Fair on Monday the 16<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Monday is our \u201cbrowsing\u201d day.\u00a0 Your student will come home with a \u201cwish list\u201d and prices.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Curriculum<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This week your student met their first Alpha friend, \u201cSAMMY SEAL.\u201d\u00a0 Ask them what sound letter \u201cS\u201d and Sammy Seal make!<\/li>\n<li>In Math we explored the names of our pattern block shapes, we explored measuring with paper, getting to know our Number Grid and practicing our route counting.<\/li>\n<li>We still are working on our classroom rules and routines.<\/li>\n<li>In \u201cDaily 5\u201d we continued to talk about the \u201c3 Ways to Read a Story\u201d and we modeled that with our Read Aloud stories.<\/li>\n<li>We completed a name assessment and name craft.<\/li>\n<li>I will begin assessing the children on their alphabet knowledge and some basic other literacy tasks next week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Classroom iBlog<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>If you are having an issue with signing up for notices from our classroom Blog please read
