{"id":397,"date":"2014-09-29T08:08:29","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T12:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=397"},"modified":"2014-09-29T08:08:29","modified_gmt":"2014-09-29T12:08:29","slug":"friday-newsletter-9-26-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2014\/09\/29\/friday-newsletter-9-26-14\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 9-26-14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Sorry this is a little late &#8211; technology &#8220;issues&#8221;!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>News and Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Late Start<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, October 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0 &#8211; School will begin at 9:35 a.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No School<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Friday, October 3<sup>rd<\/sup> and Monday, October 6<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our AlphaFriend this week was Sammy Seal, letter S.<\/li>\n<li>We sorted magnetic letters to find \u201cm\u201d and \u201cs\u201d<\/li>\n<li>We continue to read stories about Fall.<\/li>\n<li>We wrote in our journals off our whole group topic list.<\/li>\n<li>In math we practiced counting by 1\u2019s and introduced the shapes of the pattern blocks.<\/li>\n<li>In Handwriting we enjoyed songs about our letter shapes and practice shaking with our dominant hand (right).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We will begin NWEA testing (a district wide test for assessment purposes) during the month of October \u2013 the assessment will be completed on the computers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Much of the assessment for Kindergarten is read to them by the computer.\u00a0 This is why headphones are very important for each child to have.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t sent headphones for your student to use yet they can be found at the Dollar Store.\u00a0 Or ear buds can work too.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you in advance!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Ruselink<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Sorry this is a little late &#8211; technology &#8220;issues&#8221;!)
