Each student should have some emergent readers in their reading bag to practice reading (with our new words). When students are reading please remind them to use their \u201creading finger\u201d, and use the picture to help them decode unknown words.&nbsp; We are also learning to check the beginning sound of an unknown word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students should also have a \u201cring of words\u201d in their reading bag. We will add to this as they learn new words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reading the alphabet chart and \u201cbouncing\u201d on the letter sounds is also good daily practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have introduced last names as daily practice in class.
