Reminders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please remember to pack a snack for in the classroom\ndaily.  It helps if the snack is packed separate\nthan lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What We Did This Week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made it through full days of school!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue to practice classroom, playground and school\nrules and routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students visited art, gym and music classes this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a class we continue to read many stories about coming to\nschool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ELA (English Language Arts):\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We focused on letters Mm and Ss this week in addition to\nintroducing rhyming words and initial sounds. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writing:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students were introduced to their journals this week and we\nfocused on responding to a story we listened to in class.  Right now \u201cdrawing\u201d is writing for many of\nthe students.  We will work on detailed\npictures to extend our \u201cwriting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Students are being\nintroduced to the concepts taught in the Kindergarten Module 1.  These include counting, counting on, the concept\nof zero and working with numbers 0-5, and attributes of two related objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will begin to study Push and Pulls in Science<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Studies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are working on getting along with others.  Recognizing emotions and using our words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students enjoyed interacting with each other during Free Choice time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
