{"id":1799,"date":"2018-12-08T08:52:41","date_gmt":"2018-12-08T13:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=1799"},"modified":"2018-12-08T08:52:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-08T13:52:41","slug":"friday-newsletter-12-7-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2018\/12\/08\/friday-newsletter-12-7-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 12-7-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Field Trip (Thursday, December <strong>13th<\/strong>) to Kroger and LifeTime Fitness.\u00a0 Please pack a disposable brown bag lunch.<\/p>\n<p>Late Start Wednesday, December<strong> 12th<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>December <strong>14th<\/strong>, <strong>no school for Kindergarten and Y5 students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ELA:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our letters of the week were Kk, Qq<\/li>\n<li>Our sight words were\u00a0<strong>she<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>said<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Our Poem this week was \u201cThe Little Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe\u201d<\/li>\n<li>We are introducing the vowel sounds, we began with long a.<\/li>\n<li>We rotated through Daily 5 (read to self, work on writing, listen to reading and word work).\u00a0 We met in small groups.<\/li>\n<li>In Writer\u2019s Workshop students wrote stretching and recording the sounds they hear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have completed Module 2.\u00a0 We began Module 3 (Measuring). We studied lessons 1 and 2 (try the homework pages in your at home practice book).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We introduced the concept of &#8220;trade.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We went to gym, art, music and media.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed some free choice time with our friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information: Field Trip (Thursday, December 13th) to Kroger and LifeTime Fitness.\u00a0 Please pack a disposable brown bag lunch.
