{"id":1681,"date":"2018-09-29T08:26:02","date_gmt":"2018-09-29T12:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=1681"},"modified":"2018-09-29T08:26:02","modified_gmt":"2018-09-29T12:26:02","slug":"friday-newsletter-9-28-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2018\/09\/29\/friday-newsletter-9-28-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 9-28-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, October 2nd:\u00a0 PTA meeting, 6:00<\/p>\n<p>Monday, October 8th:\u00a0 Field Trip to the Apple Orchard<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, October 17th:\u00a0 Late Start<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ELA:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our letters of the week were Aa, Dd<\/li>\n<li>Our sight words were <strong>come<\/strong>, <strong>at<\/strong> (we will add these to our ring of words Monday).<\/li>\n<li>We read stories with rhyming words, we talked about &#8220;the characters&#8221; of our stories and the beginning, middle and end of our stories.<\/li>\n<li>Our Poem this week was \u201cLook!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>We rotated through Daily 5 (read to self, work on writing and word work).\u00a0 We are beginning to meet in small groups.<\/li>\n<li>In Writer&#8217;s Workshop students wrote in their journals after participating in a &#8220;shared writing&#8221; with me.\u00a0 They are helping to record the sounds they here in words.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We had 4 lessons this week on forming numbers 4 and 5, number sentences and breaking apart numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leader in Me\/ Social Studies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are developing our mission statement.<\/li>\n<li>We discussed the needs for rules in our community (our classroom) and we talked about how to get along.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Science:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We introduced pushes and pulls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We visited Gym, Art, Music and Media.<\/p>\n<p>We checked out our first book from the library.<\/p>\n<p>We played during Free Choice Time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alphabet Books were due Thursday (Letter A and Letter D page).\u00a0 I will return them on Monday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nightly Literacy Homework<\/strong>\u00a0for September can be turned in Monday.\u00a0 October sheets will be sent home on Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>**Please remember to pack an afternoon snack separate from the lunch box.<\/p>\n<p>**Please remember to eat a good breakfast every morning.\u00a0 We do not have morning snack.<\/p>\n<p>**Field Trip Permission slips are due by Friday, October 5th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have a great weekend!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information: Tuesday, October 2nd:\u00a0 PTA meeting, 6:00 Monday, October 8th:\u00a0 Field Trip to the Apple Orchard Wednesday, October 17th:\u00a0 Late Start What We Did This Week: ELA:\u00a0 Our letters of the week were Aa, Dd Our sight words were come, at (we will add these to our ring of words Monday).
