{"id":1664,"date":"2018-09-21T14:33:00","date_gmt":"2018-09-21T18:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=1664"},"modified":"2018-09-21T14:33:00","modified_gmt":"2018-09-21T18:33:00","slug":"friday-newsletter-9-21-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2018\/09\/21\/friday-newsletter-9-21-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 9-21-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No School for Kindergarten, Friday, September 28th<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The students continued to learn school rules and classroom procedures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELA:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our letters of the week were Tt, Nn<\/li>\n<li>Our sight words were like, to<\/li>\n<li>We read stories with rhyming words.<\/li>\n<li>Our Poem this week was \u201cI Like to Go to School\u201d<\/li>\n<li>We rotated through Daily 5 (read to self, work on writing and word work).<\/li>\n<li>We wrote in our journals during Writer\u2019s Workshop.\u00a0 Students are being encouraged to add lots of detail to their drawings.<\/li>\n<li>Sight word flashcards have been added to student reading bags<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We had 4 lessons this week on adding and number formation.\u00a0 Feel free to complete the practice pages at home through lesson 13.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leader in Me\/ Social Studies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We talked about characteristics of a leader.<\/li>\n<li>We are developing our mission statement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Science:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We discussed the tools scientist use to observe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We visited Gym, Art, Music and Media.<\/p>\n<p>Library Book check our will begin Monday.<\/p>\n<p>We played during Free Choice Time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alphabet Books were due today (Letter T and Letter N page).\u00a0 I will return them on Monday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nightly Literacy Homework<\/strong>\u00a0continues for the month.\u00a0 These can be turned in every Monday to show progress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>**Please remember to pack an afternoon snack separate from the lunch box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have a great weekend!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information: No School for Kindergarten, Friday, September 28th What We Did This Week: The students continued to learn school rules and classroom procedures.
