{"id":1401,"date":"2018-01-19T11:11:33","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T16:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=1401"},"modified":"2018-01-19T11:11:33","modified_gmt":"2018-01-19T16:11:33","slug":"friday-newsletter-1-19-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2018\/01\/19\/friday-newsletter-1-19-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 1-19-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Calendar:\u00a0 Half Day, Friday, January 26th<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We introduced our Alpha Friends,\u00a0Queenie Queen (Q) and Reggie Rooster (R)<\/p>\n<p>We colored the letters , colored letter pictures, and worked in our poem books.<\/p>\n<p>We introduced the sight word: look<\/p>\n<p>We wrote in our journals\u00a0using details.<\/p>\n<p>We finished reading books by author Laura Numeroff (\u201cIf You Give a Mouse a Cookie\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>We reviewed in our Handwriting books using our \u201cthree finger squeeze\u201d and introducing the \u201cmagic C\u201d \u2013 \u201cbig curve\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We are counting to 100 using songs and our math grid.<\/p>\n<p>We also practiced counting by 10\u2019s to 100.<\/p>\n<p>We continue our number talks and building numbers on the \u201cten frame.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We also continue to practice our number formation.<\/p>\n<p>In Science we are tracking the daily weather.<\/p>\n<p>We visited our special classes, Gym, Art, Music and Media<\/p>\n<p>We will begin discussing Habit 4 &#8211; &#8220;Think Win Win&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed Free Choice Time.<\/p>\n<p>In Second Steps we continued in lessons on knowing how to recognize different emotions<\/p>\n<p>We rotated through our Daily 5 Literacy Centers.<\/p>\n<p>Students who were on green 4 days this week attended the reward party with our special gift.<\/p>\n<p>During the month of January I will be using the majority of class time for mid-year assessments.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions please let me know.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information Calendar:\u00a0 Half Day, Friday, January 26th What We Did This Week We introduced our Alpha Friends,\u00a0Queenie Queen (Q) and Reggie Rooster (R) We colored the letters , colored letter pictures, and worked in our poem books.
