News and Information<\/strong><\/p>\n Calendar:\u00a0 Late Start Wednesday, January 17th<\/p>\n What We Did This Week<\/strong><\/p>\n We introduced our Alpha Friends,\u00a0Yetta Yo-Yo\u00a0(Y) and Umbrie Umbrella (U)<\/p>\n We colored the letters , colored letter pictures, and worked in our poem books.<\/p>\n We introduced the sight word: go.<\/p>\n We wrote in our journals\u00a0using details.<\/p>\n We are reading books by author Laura Numeroff (“If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”).<\/p>\n We worked in our Handwriting books using our \u201cthree finger squeeze\u201d and introducing the “magic C” – “big curve”<\/p>\n We are counting to 100 using songs and our math grid.<\/p>\n We also introduced counting by 10’s to 100.<\/p>\n We continue our number talks and building numbers on the “ten frame.”<\/p>\n We also continue to practice our number formation.<\/p>\n In Science we are tracking the daily weather.<\/p>\n We visited our special classes, Gym, Art, Music and Media<\/p>\n We visited our “First Class” groups where the students discussed Habit 3 (Leader In Me), put “first things first.”<\/p>\n We enjoyed Free Choice Time.<\/p>\n We reviewed what we have learned in our Second Steps Social Skills curriculum:\u00a0 how to be a good listener, how to focus on the speaker, and how to ask for help.<\/p>\n We rotated through our Daily 5 Literacy Centers.<\/p>\n Students who were on green 4 days this week attended the cookie reward party.<\/p>\n During the month of January I will be using the majority of class time for mid-year assessments.<\/p>\n If you have any questions please let me know.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Happy New Year!
