{"id":1371,"date":"2017-12-08T10:44:32","date_gmt":"2017-12-08T15:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=1371"},"modified":"2017-12-08T10:44:32","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T15:44:32","slug":"friday-newsletter-12-8-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2017\/12\/08\/friday-newsletter-12-8-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Newsletter, 12-8-17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News and Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content post_content\">\n<p><strong>Late Start<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, December 20th<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calendar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Classroom Holiday Party, Friday morning, December 22nd from 9:00-11:00 a.m.\u00a0 A sign-up for food and materials will come out soon.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll enjoy some holiday crafts and games and then have a special snack.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Did This Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We introduced our Alpha Friends, Jumping Jill (J) and Kelee Kangaroo (K)<\/p>\n<p>We colored the letters , colored letter pictures, and worked with the letters in our poem books.<\/p>\n<p>We introduced the sight word: to<\/p>\n<p>We wrote in our journals.\u00a0 We are learning to draw our stories with details and basic shapes.<\/p>\n<p>We continue to read stories by the author Mercer Meyer (Little Critter Books)<\/p>\n<p>We worked in our Handwriting book using our \u201cthree finger squeeze\u201d and practicing capital H (another \u201cstraight line\u201d letter)<\/p>\n<p>We are counting to 100 using songs and our math grid<\/p>\n<p>We discussed the \u201cTricky Teen\u201d family (numbers 11-19) put together teen number puzzles<\/p>\n<p>We are also building numbers on the ten frame and having \u201cnumber talks\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We visited our special classes, Gym, Art, Music and Media<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed playing on the playground<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed Free Choice Time<\/p>\n<p>We rotated through our Daily 5 Literacy Centers<\/p>\n<p>Students who were on green 4 days this week attended the Chirstmas BINGO party<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please work with your student at home on learning to dress themselves in winter clothes.\u00a0 If the snow starts to accumulate please wear snow boots to school and pack shoes to wear indoors in their backpack.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the temperature (with windchill) is 20 or below there will be indoor line up and indoor receess.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great weekend!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News and Information Late Start Wednesday, December 20th Calendar Classroom Holiday Party, Friday morning, December 22nd from 9:00-11:00 a.m.\u00a0 A sign-up for food and materials will come out soon.
