{"id":1280,"date":"2017-10-20T10:48:33","date_gmt":"2017-10-20T14:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=1280"},"modified":"2017-10-20T10:48:33","modified_gmt":"2017-10-20T14:48:33","slug":"raffle-basket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2017\/10\/20\/raffle-basket\/","title":{"rendered":"Raffle Basket"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families and Friends of Young 5\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>As some of you may know, the Lindbergh annual Holiday Boutique is quickly approaching!\u00a0 The boutique is held at the school on Saturday, November 11<sup>th<\/sup> from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm.\u00a0 The Holiday Boutique will have countless artists selling beautiful handmade crafts, bake sale goodies, and classroom gift baskets which will be raffled off \u2013 one of the biggest attractions of the boutique!<\/p>\n<p>Historically, each classroom creates a uniquely themed basket that is raffled off at the Holiday Boutique.\u00a0 100% of the money collected from the basket raffle is then divided equally among our Lindbergh teachers.\u00a0 This money is used to partially reimburse our teachers for the numerous items they purchase with their own personal money: classroom books, supplies, class rewards, to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>This year, because of the individual class sizes, the Young 5s classes will be combining efforts by creating a single basket to represent the two classes.\u00a0 <strong>Our theme for the basket is \u201cA Day in the D\u201d.\u00a0 The Westin Book Cadillac has generously donated a 1 night stay with complimentary valet parking for our basket (thanks to the Michalkiewicz family for organizing!).\u00a0<\/strong> We hope to add more items to the basket which will compliment the Detroit stay for our lucky raffle winner.\u00a0 This is where we need your help! If any of you have items that will compliment our theme we would be happy to add them to the basket.\u00a0 We are also asking all of you to consider donating $5-$10 in order to purchase additional items for the basket such as restaurant gift certificates, coffee shop certificates, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Your contribution to our basket is tax- deductible!\u00a0 Donation receipts are available for anyone who would like to donate more that the $10 contribution.<\/p>\n<p>2) There will be a banner on display at the boutique thanking business for their donations.\u00a0 They will also be mentioned in our newsletter.
