{"id":111,"date":"2013-10-11T11:02:02","date_gmt":"2013-10-11T15:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/?p=111"},"modified":"2013-10-11T11:02:02","modified_gmt":"2013-10-11T15:02:02","slug":"newsletter-10-11-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ruselink\/2013\/10\/11\/newsletter-10-11-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Newsletter, 10-11-13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No School<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Just a reminder that there is no school October 14<sup>th<\/sup>, 15<sup>th<\/sup> and 16<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 School will resume on Thursday, October 17<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Concussion and Possession of a Weapon Forms<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Some of you signed these forms at Open House.\u00a0 If you did not &#8211; \u00a0these forms are being sent home in your student\u2019s red folder.<\/p>\n<p>The Concussion form needs to be on record here at school by October 17<sup>th<\/sup> or your student may not be able to participate in gym class or play on the playground.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for your cooperation!<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Halloween Party<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We will hear shortly from our room parents about our plans for a Halloween party \u2013 but yes it will involve a costume!\u00a0 For your planning purposes please plan appropriate costumes that your student can easily put on over clothes.\u00a0\u00a0 Toy weapons (guns, swords) will not be allowed. \u00a0\u00a0Thank you!<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Read To Self<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>We are building our stamina!!!!!\u00a0 We have made it to seven minutes of silent reading!<\/p>\n<p>If your student has a special book (or books) from home that they would like to read and put in their book box at school they are more than welcome to bring them.\u00a0 Please label the books with the student\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What We Did This Week<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A special thank you to the parents that were able to Chaperone our field trip to the Apple Orchard<\/span>!<\/li>\n<li>Benny Bear, Letter Bb was our Alpha Friend this week.<\/li>\n<li>We practiced making patterns with pumpkins.<\/li>\n<li>We are working on forming our numerals with a special song!<\/li>\n<li>We continue to add details in our Writer\u2019s Workshop.<\/li>\n<li>We will wrap up our study of Fall next week with some apple activities and then move onto studying \u201cOur Five Senses\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Keep reading with your October Reading Log \u2013 and earn a pizza at the end of the month!<\/li>\n<li>There is another Math Home Link coming home today (about patterns), this is due Thursday, October 17<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have a nice (long) weekend,<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Ruselink<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No School Just a reminder that there is no school October 14th, 15th and 16th.\u00a0 School will resume on Thursday, October 17th.
