{"id":765,"date":"2015-12-01T14:50:15","date_gmt":"2015-12-01T19:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/rpiche\/?p=765"},"modified":"2015-12-01T14:50:15","modified_gmt":"2015-12-01T19:50:15","slug":"dec-1st-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/rpiche\/2015\/12\/01\/dec-1st-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Dec 1st, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hope everyone had a good break!<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday and today in class we talked about the Code of Hammurabi. \u00a0These were an ancient form of laws from the Babylonian Empire in Mesopotamia that showed laws broken and punishments given. \u00a0These laws are seen as quite barbaric by today&#8217;s standards, but they did help King Hammurabi unify his Empire.<\/p>\n<p>Students will have to do a poster project about the Code of Hammurabi. \u00a0Today I explain to them what the project will be. \u00a0Attached is a sheet that has ALL of the information needed for the project. \u00a0They must get their own poster, and it needs to be 12&#215;18 in. \u00a0If you have a poster larger than that, then measure out the length and cut it. \u00a0This will be due Wednesday Dec. 9th. \u00a0Attached is the assignment information, rubric, and overview reading sheet along with the actual code of laws.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/rpiche\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1012\/2015\/12\/hammurabi-assignment-1.docx\">hammurabi assignment (1)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Extra Credit is due by end of this week! \u00a0I have already had some students turn in their projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOMEWORK:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Code of Hammurabi Project, Due December 9th<\/li>\n<li>Extra Credit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hope everyone had a good break!
