In room 101 we are house Fearless.\u00a0 We wear red on Wednesdays and eat with all of the grade levels!<\/p>\n
Today was our first house meeting! That means we went to different classrooms and had the opportunity to work with all the grade levels on an activity.<\/p>\n
This meeting’s theme was: PROACTIVE<\/p>\n
Be Proactive:\u00a0<\/strong>I have a \u201cCan Do\u201d attitude. I choose my actions, attitudes and moods. I don\u2019t blame others. I do the right thing without being asked, even if nobody is looking.<\/p>\n As a group of K-5th grades we talked about how we can have a bad day but, it is up to us how we handle the bad day.Being proactive means that you are in charge of you. No one else is in charge of how you feel or how you react to a situation or problem. \u00a0We can all get upset, but we need to stop and think about how to handle the situation before we hurt others.\u00a0 We said that our feelings are like the weather.\u00a0 We can have sunny days, cloudy days or even stormy days.\u00a0 As a group we watched this video:\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DeV-vQ9L9XI<\/span><\/p>\n After, we read\u00a0Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day.\u00a0<\/em> You can watch it here with your student:\u00a0https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h6rp0SZX7lg\u00a0 As a group, we discussed how Alexander was not proactive and what we would have done to be proactive in his shoes.<\/p>\n We then made a stop light bookmark!\u00a0 The red reminds us to stop and cool down when we are upset\/angry\/sad.
