{"id":667,"date":"2020-03-31T13:26:26","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T17:26:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/robertl1\/?p=667"},"modified":"2020-03-31T13:26:58","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T17:26:58","slug":"science-fair-design-fair-book-project-update-march-31-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/robertl1\/2020\/03\/31\/science-fair-design-fair-book-project-update-march-31-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Science Fair, Design Fair &#038; Book Project Update &#8211; March 31, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>PROJECT UPDATE FOR: <br><em>6TH GRADE &#8211; SCIENCE FAIR<br>7TH GRADE &#8211; ELA BOOK PROJECT 3<br>8TH GRADE &#8211; DESIGN FAIR<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KEEP ALL OF YOUR PROJECT MATERIALS &#8211; DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY!!&nbsp;<br><br>KEEP WORKING ON YOUR PROJECT!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s a very good chance that **IF** school closures extend past Spring Break, the Dearborn Public School district will eventually ask teachers to start giving formative and summative grades on digital work, like we&#8217;re seeing in other states across the U.S.\u00a0I do not have any additional information regarding this at this time, but I want you to know that this is a possibility, so that you do not throw project materials away or have to re-do any work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If we are physically back in school on April 13th, following Spring Break: <\/strong><br><strong><em>6th Graders &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>We&#8217;ll have more formative and summative Science Fair check-ins leading up to the fair on May 4th, as planned. Plan to have a Science Fair update to share for a grade after we return from Spring Break.<br><br><strong><em>7th Graders<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; If we are physically back in school after Spring Break, you&#8217;ll turn in your Book Project 3 for a grade on April 16th, as planned.<br><br><strong><em>8th Graders &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>We&#8217;ll have more formative and summative Design Fair check-ins leading up to the fair on May 4th, as planned. Plan to have a Design Fair update to share for a grade after we return from Spring Break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If we ARE NOT physically back in school on April 13th due to extended school closures, I will send out more info about project updates &amp; deadlines after we return from Spring Break.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ALTHOUGH THIS COULD CHANGE, AS OF RIGHT NOW: <\/strong><br>THE ELA BOOK PROJECT 3 IS STILL DUE ON APRIL 16TH!<br>THE SCIENCE FAIR IS STILL TAKING PLACE ON MAY 4TH!<br>THE DESIGN FAIR IS STILL TAKING PLACE ON MAY 4TH!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, I don&#8217;t have any more info regarding this, but stay tuned. I&#8217;ll be sure to keep you updated as I receive more details from our Superintendent and our school administrators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for working so hard to complete your digital assignments on time and for being so supportive during such an unpredictable, unprecedented situation.
