6th Grade Science<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013
This week, we\u2019ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the connections between unicellular and multicellular organisms. We\u2019ll be learning that cells are the building block of life and that all living things are comprised of one or more cells. Throughout this unit, we\u2019ll also be examining the relationship between biotic and abiotic components and we\u2019ll be learning about the difference between viruses, parasites, bacteria, and healthy cells. We\u2019ll also be examining the parts of cells, functions of cells,the characteristics of living things, and we\u2019ll be learning about the structure and function of body systems.

7th Grade ELA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013
This week, we\u2019ll be determining the theme(s) of a story by using context clues, evidence, and details from the text. We’ll examine poems and different types of stories to give us more experience with identifying themes. Students should also continue working on\u00a0Book Project 3<\/strong>, which will be\u00a0due on Thursday, April 16th<\/strong>. All of the Book Project 3 instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric are available in Google Classroom.
Homework<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<\/em>
2\/3\/20\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Complete IXL ELA 7.B.1 – Match quotations with the theme. Students must earn at least a 95% on this IXL to receive full credit.

8th Grade STEM Apps<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013
This week, we\u2019ll be exploring and examining how graphic designers use mathematics, graphic design skills, and computer-aided design techniques to create geometric designs, artistic patterns, and architectural structures. Students will be using their skills to convert 2-D and 3-D images to designs using web-based software programs.
Homework<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<\/em>
2\/3\/20\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Work on your sneaker project sketches – Your hand-drawn brainstorm sketches (thumbnail, orthographic & isometric) final draft are due at the end of class on Tuesday (Feb. 4th). These should be complete with measurements and dimensions, and they should be colorful.
