We\u2019ll be learning that cells are the building block of life and that all living things are comprised of one or more cells. Throughout this unit, we\u2019ll also be examining the relationship between biotic and abiotic components and we\u2019ll be learning about the difference between viruses, parasites, bacteria, and healthy cells. During this unit, students will examine different types of poems, such as sonnets, haikus, acrostic poems, limericks, and free verse poems, to learn about concepts such as mood, tone, hyperbole, irony, metaphors, and allegory. <br><strong><em>Homework<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0\u2013<\/em><br><strong><em>1\/27\/20\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Read your haikus to a friend.<br><strong><em>1\/28\/20\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Share your blackout poem with a classmate or friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8th Grade STEM Apps<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<br>This week, we\u2019ll be exploring and examining how graphic designers use mathematics, graphic design skills, and computer-aided design techniques to create geometric designs, artistic patterns, and architectural structures.
