6th Grade Science<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013
This week, we\u2019ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the connections between unicellular and multicellular organisms. We\u2019ll be learning that cells are the building block of life and that all living things are comprised of one or more cells. Throughout this unit, we\u2019ll also be examining the relationship between biotic and abiotic components and we\u2019ll be learning about the difference between viruses, parasites, bacteria, and healthy cells. The next Do Now journal check<\/strong> will take place on Thursday, January 9th<\/strong> – Students will need a minimum of 20 correct, complete entries dated between November 4th & January 9th uploaded to Google Classroom by the end of the school day on Thursday, January 9th to earn full credit.

This week, we\u2019ll be working on our argumentative & persuasive literature unit. Students will read, write, and evaluate different forms of argumentative and persuasive texts, including non-fiction literature, news articles, informational texts, debates, and transcripts. During this unit, students will also write arguments and counter-arguments that involve citing claims, evidence, and reasoning. The next Do Now journal check<\/strong> will take place on Thursday, January 9th<\/strong> – Students will need a minimum of 20 correct, complete entries dated between November 4th & January 9th uploaded to Google Classroom by the end of the school day on Thursday, January 9th to earn full credit. Students should also continue working on Book Project 2<\/strong>, which will be due on Thursday, January 23rd<\/strong>. All of the Book Project 2 instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric are available in Google Classroom.
