Students will conduct a series of activities and experiments to learn about how human activity can affect the water cycle and how development can impact the flow of the water.<br><strong><em>Homework<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;\u2013<br><strong>10\/7\/19&nbsp;\u2013<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp; Complete your landform tarp model lab report!&nbsp;<br><strong><em>10\/8\/19&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Complete your groundwater model lab report!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7th Grade ELA<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013<br>This week, we\u2019ll continue our narrative lit unit by focusing on \u201cThe Lottery\u201d by Shirley Jackson.&nbsp;We\u2019ll also spend some time working on the following literary concepts: theme, symbolism, types of conflict, and characterization. In addition, students will be working on a narrative summative project in and out of the classroom all week &#8211; The Lottery Newspaper Project &#8211; which is due by the end of the class period on Thursday, October 10th.<br><strong><em>Homework<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;\u2013<br><strong>10\/7\/19&nbsp;\u2013<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;Finish your Lottery newspaper project &#8211; Headline &amp; special feature rough drafts. We&#8217;ll be hosting a Writer&#8217;s Workshop in class on Wednesday!<br><strong><em>10\/8\/19&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>\u2013  Finish your Lottery newspaper project &#8211; Obituary &amp; life and times feature rough drafts. We&#8217;ll be hosting a Writer&#8217;s Workshop in class on Wednesday to revise rough drafts, Lottery Newspaper Project final drafts (the poster) is due on Thursday! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8th Grade STEM Apps<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<br>This week, we\u2019ll be kicking off a computed-aided design &amp; modeling unit to hone our mathematical, technical drawing, spatial reasoning, and perspective skills. Students will be working on a series of CAD illustration activities and assignments using the program SketchUp! Students will be working on a design project in and out of class all week &#8211; The SketchUp Three Chairs Project &#8211; which is due at the end of the class period on Thursday, October 10th.<br><strong><em>Homework<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0\u2013<br><strong>10\/7\/19\u00a0\u2013<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Finish your SketchUp Chair #1 design &amp; upload your work to Google Classroom!
