6th Grade Science<\/strong> \u2013
This week, we\u2019ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the hydrologic cycle. Students will conduct a series of activities and experiments to learn about how human activity can affect the water cycle and how development can impact the flow of the water.

7th Grade ELA<\/strong> \u2013
This week, we\u2019ll continue our narrative lit unit by focusing on \u201cThe Lottery\u201d by Shirley Jackson. We\u2019ll also spend some time working on the following literary concepts: theme, symbolism, types of conflict, and characterization. In addition, students will be working on a narrative summative project in and out of the classroom all week – The Lottery Newspaper Project – which is due by the end of the class period on Thursday, October 10th.

8th Grade STEM Apps<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013
This week, we\u2019ll be kicking off a computed-aided design & modeling unit to hone our mathematical, technical drawing, spatial reasoning, and perspective skills. Students will be working on a series of CAD illustration activities and assignments using the program SketchUp! Students will be working on a design project in and out of class all week – The SketchUp Three Chairs Project – which is due at the end of the class period on Thursday, October 10th.
