6th Grade Science<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013
\nThis week, we\u2019ll be focusing our efforts on preparing for the Science Fair that will take place in May 2019. During this time, students will study the scientific method, examine the parts of a science fair display board, discuss lab reports, practice data organization and graphing, and gather research. Although we will be working on pieces of the Science Fair project and presentation board in class, students should be continuing to set up and complete their science experiment at home, they should be testing their experiment, gathering data, and taking photographs of their project that they can use on their presentation board. Experimentation should be complete by mid-April, so that students have time to analyze their data, create graphs and charts, and solidify their conclusions prior to the Science Fair in May.

During this time, students will explore topics, conduct research, and discuss how a real-world problem relates to their own Engineering Design Process. We will be working on pieces of the Engineering Design Fair Project presentation board in class this week, but students should be continuing to build their project prototype or model at home, they should be testing their prototype\/model, gathering data, and taking photographs of their project that they can use on their presentation board. Project prototyping should be complete by mid-April, so that students have time to analyze their data, create graphs and charts, and solidify their conclusions prior to the Design Fair in May.
