1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bellwork reviewed graphing quadratic equations and using a quadratic model of a situation to find the maximum or minimum of the function and when it occurs.<\/p>\n

The remainder\u00a0 of the period we began our discussing on Sec 5-3, Vertex Form for the equation of a quadratic function.<\/p>\n

Hwk #16 is due tomorrow.\u00a0 Sec 5-2<\/p>\n

Students are to use the practice sheet I gave them.<\/p>\n

4th & 5th Hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bellwork reviewed the steps used to make a scatter plot using the graphing calculator and finding the regression equation to model the data (Sec 2-4).\u00a0 Students were given a sheet of instructions to help them through this process.<\/p>\n

The remainder of the period we continued discussing scatter plots and the equations that model them, including performing a Quadratic Regression in the event the scatter plot looks like a curve instead of a line.\u00a0 We also began discussing what the correlation coefficient(r) tells us.<\/p>\n

Hwk #13 is due tomorrow.\u00a0 Sec 2-4.<\/p>\n

Students were given a Practice Sheet for this homework.<\/p>\n
