{"id":5565,"date":"2025-04-16T13:26:31","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T17:26:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/reedc\/?p=5565"},"modified":"2025-04-16T13:26:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T17:26:37","slug":"retirement-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/reedc\/2025\/04\/16\/retirement-announcement\/","title":{"rendered":"Retirement Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>My dear parents and students,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been a tough decision and something I have labored over for many months, but my husband and I have decided it is time for me to\u00a0retire, and\u00a0June 6, 2025 will be my last day.\u00a0 I had really expected to continue teaching for another 4 years or so, because I love it so much at Howe.\u00a0 However, out of a sense of fairness to everyone, and the desire and need to be with my mom more, this is the right time to\u00a0retire.\u00a0 I am very excited about the possibilities\u00a0retirement\u00a0brings. And, just the same, I am so sad to be saying goodbye to everyone.\u00a0 I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching the wonderful students in every building I have worked at in Dearborn (18 in total). However, I am very thankful for the last 3 years here at Howe.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am still non weight bearing so I am not certain when I will be returning to work this semester. I miss all of my students and hope things are going well in the music room for them while I am out.
