We are starting our second month of preschool and the children really have our routine and schedule down! They are amazing! This month we will be talking about the Fall. We will be exploring how leaves change and how the weather gets colder in the Fall.

We are hoping to spend time outside taking nature walks and do some leaf collecting. We will learn about different kinds of leaves, why they change color, why the veins are used for. We will also learn that trees go to sleep after they lose all their leaves.

Children will be also learning about pumpkins for carving and pumpkins for baking, we will cut them open, investigate the inside and the outside, and explore the many parts.

Please send a Pumpkin with your child on the first week of October.

Happy Halloween!

This month we will be working on many exciting things. We are focusing on Community helpers, Emotions and Feelings, Thankfulness, and Thanksgiving. We are going to explore the fall weather, what Thanksgiving is, who makes up our family and making friends. We will continue with colors, letters, numbers, and learning new words.

This month we are going to focus on Positive social interactions that take place between peers that are positive in nature and successful for both children involved. These peer interactions are important because they lead to positive social and emotional development in children. Some skills that are useful for interacting with peers and building social relationships include:

  •  Getting a friend’s attention
  • Sharing objects
  •  Asking peers to share objects
  •  Providing a play idea to a peer
  • Saying something nice to a friend

We seem to finally be enjoying some warmer weather. “April Showers bring May Flowers!” We have spent so much time indoors and will be excited to spend time outside enjoying the weather and the many things we can observe in the spring! Our children strengthen growing muscles when they are climbing, running, playing ball and jumping. This month we will also be taking time to discuss all the changes around us.

Preschoolers and young children absolutely adore diving into nature. The spring season is perfect for getting those little hands into the dirt, planting some seeds, and learning more about the beauty of weather, sunshine, and rain.  Children  love learning about the magic of weather changes and growing seeds too!
