***Report cards were sent home ON FRIDAY, sign the envelope and return to school. Keep the report card and the papers that are in your child\u2019s folder, just return the envelope signed.\u00a0Please take time to read carefully the paper comments that go with the report card and review all stapled work<\/em>\u2014 keep all of these papers AT HOME\u2013 just return the envelope signed at the red \u201cx.\u201d on Monday. THANK YOU!!!<\/strong>\u00a0***\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for JANUARY!! <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Reading bag- 35 TOTAL<\/em><\/strong> NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS <\/em>one, little, play, me, here<\/strong>, am, do, not, who, with\u2014 I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* Practice spelling the words if your child can read them. Spelling will start next week!! (A letter will be sent home with words on Monday!!!)<\/li>
    2. READING GROUP BAG \u2014 Some students got new books and others have the same book. READ everyday and focus on fluency and comprehension. *If your child did not get a new book, focus on RETELLING— new books will not be given everyday so more focus can be on comprehension. <\/em> To move UP reading levels students need to be able to read the words accurately and COMPREHEND (understand what I read).<\/strong> After reading books, please practice using the handout for the \u201cretelling rope\u201d see picture below!! (Don\u2019t forget to ask your child\u2013 what was your favorite part of the story and WHY? or what did this story remind you of?)<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
