Thank you parents for attending the parent meeting today. I hope the message was clear that we are a TEAM and the teacher and parents MUST work together to help each child LEARN and GROW LOTS this year!! The kindergarten expectations have changed in just the last few years- read by 3rd grade law- and there is a lot expected of them! Over 80 sights words to know, reading at independent 4 by the end of the year with comprehension skills!, ANNNNND a whole math curriculum. It is an exciting time for you (parents!) and your child. I am excited to be the leader (coach) of this TEAM and look forward to a wonderful year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PARENTS, please make sure the I-chat form to volunteer is filled out in the office ASAP– they will need a copy of your driver’s license or state ID. This MUST be filled out to help in the classroom and to go on field trips– thank you!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ROOM PARENTS- if you are willing to help in the classroom or help me with “secretarial” type tasks or would like to help organize classroom holiday parties, please send with a remind message with your availability. I am hoping to have a few consistent “helpers”- for example, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone that can come in EVERY MONDAY from 9:20-10:00 while the children are in science to help with sight word rings\/reading bags. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone that can come in EVERY FRIDAY from 2:05-2:45 to help with POETRY notebooks while the children are in art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone to come in during READING TIME (mornings) to help with students one-on-one to learn letter ID, sight words, and extra reading practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TUESDAY is a FULL DAY and pick up will be at 3:30 on the small playround by door 4. We will come out to our yellow line and students MUST HIGH 5 ME BEFORE THEY LEAVE EACH DAY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
