DO NOT leave your car blocking the driveway or other cars. We share the lot with K/1 and they do curbside pick up. Preschoolers must be signed in and out every day, so you must park in a spot and meet us by the entrance. No one will be allowed in before 8:35. If your child is having a hard time separating from you, the best thing you can do is leave quickly. The more parents linger the harder it gets for both you and the child. In our experience as soon as the parents are back in their car, the child has calmed down. Please help us make this transition for all easy.

It is important that your paperwork be turned in tomorrow, especially the Child Information paper must be filled out completely. Please do not leave any lines blank. This information is used to contact you, or if an emergency were to arise. The State requires that all lines be completed.

Also, of extreme importance is letting us know about peanut or tree nut allergies. If your child has a nut allergy, an epi pen is required along with a doctor’s note. As of yet, we know of no allergies. If we do have one, I will make sure everyone is informed not to bring in snack with nuts or snack that is manufactured in a facility where there are nut products.

Tuesday will be a full day. The state requires that children of this age have a one hour rest time. Please bring in a beach towel, sheet, or something for your child to use during rest time. Make sure it is in a bag (the super large zip locks work great) with your child’s name on it. NO PILLOWS OR STUFFED ANIMALS PLEASE. Rest time items will be sent home every Friday so that you can launder them. You will also need to label your child’s back pack, lunch box, water bottle, and a bag with emergency clothes in them. When you bring the supplies in, do not label them. These supplies are shared in our classroom. Starting Tuesday, your child will need to be picked up no later than 3:35. If picked up later you will be charged a fee. We have not had issues with charging people in the past and don’t anticipate it this year. The fee gets quite hefty as minutes accumulate.

Everyone should sign up for snack 10 times during the school year. The sign up sheet is now posted on our parent information board outside of our classroom. Please make sure one of your snack days is your child’s birthday if it falls during the school year. We will allow cupcakes or cookies ONLY ON a birthday, if there is no nut allergies. Otherwise make sure you are providing a healthy snack for 18 children. Some examples are fruits, vegetables and dips, cheese and crackers, and yogurt. We have lots of applesauce to start the year, so no applesauce please. Your child should also have a water bottle with their name on it. They are free to have access to water bottles all day. We encourage the children to drink lots of water especially during the hot days.

This coming Friday, August 31 and Monday, September 3 there will be NO SCHOOL due to Labor Day weekend.

Finally, if you have a spouse, grandparent, or someone else that will need to keep informed of what is happening in our classroom, please have them sign up for my blog. The blog is the way we communicate with families with all the important information.

Looking forward to a great school year with all of you! Have a Happy Sunday!

Thank you to everyone that came to our Parent Orientation meeting. It was nice to see old faces and meet our new families. The packets we usually give at the meeting will be ready soon. We apologize that they were not ready, but with our floor being tiled, we did not have access to the… Read more: IMPORTANT INFORMATION

[1

post-1266","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-class-news
["GET
