{"id":2831,"date":"2020-12-11T16:05:59","date_gmt":"2020-12-11T21:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/polstel\/?p=2831"},"modified":"2020-12-11T16:06:02","modified_gmt":"2020-12-11T21:06:02","slug":"dra-testing-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/polstel\/2020\/12\/11\/dra-testing-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"DRA Testing Next Week!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The week of December 14th-18th we will be holding DRA Testing during Learning Lab times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>DRA<\/strong> (Developmental Reading Assessment) is an individualized reading assessment that enables teachers to evaluate growth in student reading performance over time. The <strong>DRA<\/strong> helps teachers to identify students\u2019 independent reading level by assessing students\u2019 oral reading fluency and comprehension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This data will allow us to create the most appropriate small group work and differentiate within our class work.&nbsp; The DRA will also allow us to see how your child is improving academically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early literacy is extremely important for the continuous growth and development of our young readers.&nbsp; Especially during these unique times, giving quick reading assessments allows us to create the most essential instruction for our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will be giving DRA over zoom.\u00a0 Please ensure that your child logins at the right time.\u00a0 Time slots are allocated to ensure enough time to give the assessment and prepare for the next student.\u00a0 If your child logs in before the scheduled time, please just wait patiently in the waiting room.\u00a0 If, for some reason we are running behind, we ask that you stay logged into the zoom and we will be there shortly.
