This week there will be no math homework. We will be &#8216;doing math assessments and review before moving into Unit 2 &#8211; Geometry next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, October 31<\/strong> &#8211; We have a change in time for the Halloween parade and the Halloween party. Mrs. Polgar&#8217;s classroom party will take place at 12:30-1:30 p.m. and the parade has been moved to 1:40 pm. Students will end lunch at 11:43 and come back to the classroom and change into their costumes and we will start the party. After the party we will get ready for the parade. I am sorry if this is a conflict for volunteers with the change of time for the parade I thought that would not leave enough time for the party. Please let me know, if you are unable to help with the time change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, November 2<\/strong> &#8211; Half day of school. Teacher duty day. School dismissal 11:45 a.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peek at the Week\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Letters of the week &#8211; Nn, Ll\u00a0 \u00a0 Sight words &#8211; come, and. Sight word sentence &#8211; Come and see the dog.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing<\/strong> &#8211; we will focus on narrative writing this week. Students will learn to write a story with a beginning, middle and end. We will focus on beginnings and endings at first. We will focus on narrative elements; characters, setting and events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong> &#8211; reviewing social studies vocabulary, concepts and applying them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong> -Finishing up on Module 1 &#8211; Numbers to 10. I will review and assess this week. Next week we will move on to Module 2 &#8211; Geometry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Literacy\/Daily Five<\/strong> &#8211; This week we will focus on reading strategies; identifying the first sound in a word and identifying the last sound in a word. Reading comprehension strategies; sequencing a story, beginning, middle, end.
