Monday, February 26 – Back to school from Winter Break.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wednesday, February 28 – Curriculum Night 5-6:30 pm. Please join us for a family evening of fun. Students\/families will visit classrooms and play learning games and win prizes. Mrs. Polgar will host BINGO in her classroom.<\/h4>\n

Friday, March 2 – Homework packets are due for the Week of February 26. Spelling test will also be on Friday.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held this week. I will post the day our classroom will be visiting the book fair to purchase books. Your child does not have to attend the book fair; only if you would like your child to purchase some books.<\/h4>\n

Math – We will compare volume and learn about capacity in our<\/h4>\n

measurement unit.<\/h4>\n

Social Studies – begin a new unit on geography – where do we live?<\/h4>\n

Study of maps, directional terms and community.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Writing – Start a new unit on personal narratives. Review features of narratives – beginning, middle, end to stories, setting, details, characters, events and problems. Learning about the details of speech bubbles.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Reading – Retelling familiar stories with key details in a text and asking and answering questions about key details in a text.<\/h4>\n
