Dates to Remember:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday, February 12<\/strong> – Spelling test on “an” word family. Homework packet that was due on Friday will be turned in Monday due to the snow day on Friday.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, February 13 –<\/strong> Turn in Valentine’s cards with student name labeled on bag. Don’t forget just have your child write their name on the From section on the card. Do not address the To section.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, February 14<\/strong> – Valentine’s Party 1-2 pm. We will celebrate Valentine’s by passing out Valentine’s to friends and enjoying an ice cream sundae. We will decorate Valentine bags earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

Thursday, February 15<\/strong> – Several overdue book notices were sent home. Please remember to return library books on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Friday, February 16<\/strong> – Nitro Science show 1:10 – 2:10. K-2 students will enjoy a Science show in the gym. Student event.<\/p>\n

February 19 – 23 – Winter Break. Students report back to school on Monday, February 26.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peek at the Week:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spelling words for Week:<\/strong> “et” word family get, met, set. Sight words – for, you, me.<\/p>\n

Writing<\/strong> – We will start a new unit on informational writing learning about animal’s habitat’s.<\/p>\n

Reading<\/strong> – Identifying the main idea and details in informational text.<\/p>\n

Math<\/strong> – Focusing on measurement. Comparing weights of objects on a pan balance using terms heavier, lighter and same.<\/p>\n

Science – Unit on weather.<\/strong> We will explore different weather conditions with wind such as; a windy day, tornadoes and hurricanes.<\/p>\n
