Martin Luther King day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, January 17<\/strong> &#8211; Late start &#8211; school starts an hour later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, January 18<\/strong> &#8211; NWEA Reading assessment scheduled at 8:50-10:05 a.m. Please make sure your child is on time for school to begin the test. It also helps to have a good night&#8217;s sleep and breakfast for brain energy.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next two weeks students will be assessed in content areas &#8211; Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Writing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Counting by ones, tens, count forward by a given number, count and write quantity, understand greater than, less than and equal to symbols in relation to problems. Addition and subtraction within 5. Identify 2D and 3D shapes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comprehension &#8211; Retell the beginning, middle and end of a story. Identify letters and letter sounds. Read CVC words &#8211; sun, map, bat.
