It is hard to believe that December will be here Friday!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dates to Remember:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, November 29 &#8211;<\/strong> Picture retakes. If you want to have your child have their picture retaken, please return their original picture packet for ordering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peek at the Week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Letters of the Week &#8211; Rr and Qq\u00a0\u00a0 Sight words &#8211; on\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 color words &#8211; red, yellow, blue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing<\/strong> &#8211; We will focus on informational writing and learn about transportation.We will also learn about adjectives and use adjectives in our writing pieces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong> &#8211; We will end our unit on Tally Marks. For practice at home students can write numbers 1-20 and practice writing tally marks with each number. We will start looking at number bonds and finding the missing number 1+ _=3\u00a0 in an equation. Learning double addition facts (2+2=4\u00a0\u00a0 3+3=6) and concentrating on addition sentences and multiple ways to make a number for example; combinations of 5 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 2+3=5\u00a0\u00a0 3+2=5\u00a0\u00a0 1+4=5\u00a0\u00a0 4+1=5\u00a0 0+5=5\u00a0\u00a0 5+0=5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science &#8211;<\/strong> Weather unit &#8211; studying severe weather.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong> &#8211; We will focus on wants and understand the difference between needs and wants. Needs are things we need to survive; clothing, water, food, shelter, air. Wants are things we do not need to survive but would like to have; toys, candy, phone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daily Five<\/strong> &#8211; Producing rhymes and focusing on beginning sounds and ending sounds in words.
