Dates to Remember<\/strong><\/p>\n Monday, October 17<\/strong> – October “Pumpkins” project is due and homework packets are due. Please return red and blue folders. On Friday your child brought home a book to read, “Bounce Bounce.” Please make sure they have practiced reading their book 3 times and return the book on Monday. I will be adding the book to their book bag in their book boxes.<\/p>\n Wednesday, October 19 –<\/strong> Library check-in and check-out.<\/p>\n Monday, October, 31 – Halloween Party 12:00-1:00 p.m<\/strong>. I have sent out a volunteer sign up on-line. If you would like to volunteer, please let me know .<\/p>\n Friday, October 28 – Nowlin Fall Fest 6-7 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n Peek at the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n Sight word for the week<\/strong> – like\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Review sight words – I, a, see<\/p>\n Letters of the week –<\/strong> Gg, Hh<\/p>\n Math<\/strong> – Introduction to Daily 3 Math – Math by Self and Math with Someone. Working on apple ten frames, writing numbers 0-10, working with number boards and identifying numbers, counting by tens to 100, counting by ones to 30, matching numbers with groups\/sets.<\/p>\n Social Studies<\/strong> – Finishing up on unit – How Do I Get Along With Others?<\/p>\n Science<\/strong> – Working on Five Senses – Sense of Smell.<\/p>\n Writing –<\/strong> We will start a new writing unit on Opinion writing. Students will use pictures and words to tell what they think about a topic or a book.<\/p>\n Daily Five<\/strong> – Introducing Read to Someone. Working on strategies; identifying the first sound in a word, when finished with left page move on to the right page, building stamina and fluency.
