A Peek at the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

Science –<\/strong> We will begin planting seeds this week and follow up with an informational writing piece on how to plant a seed. Recording and observing our plant growth will follow. Next, we will start a unit on insects to learn more about living things.<\/p>\n

Social Studies<\/strong> – We will begin a unit on How Do I Get Along with Others? Working together on making fair decisions, demonstrating self-discipline and individual responsibility and discussing why people do not have the right to do whatever they want.<\/p>\n

Math<\/strong> – Working on writing nos. to 100 on a scroll, counting forward and backwards from a given no., and decomposing numbers less than or equal to 10. Fluently mastering addition facts within 5.<\/p>\n

Writing<\/strong> – Informational writing on Insects\/Living Things.<\/p>\n

Reading<\/strong> – Working on short comprehension stories – retelling beginning, middle and end. Self to text connections – What did the story remind you of? Fluency – working on reading short sentences with common sight words to build fluency in reading groups.<\/p>\n

Reviewing short\/long vowel sounds and introducing silent “e” words.<\/p>\n

Spelling words for week – bug, hug, jug\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sight words – come, make<\/strong><\/p>\n
