Dates to Remember<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friday, October 31<\/strong> – Mrs. Polgar’s Halloween Party 12:20 – 1:20 PM. Volunteer sign-up sheet is in the classroom. Please make sure your child’s costume is placed in a labeled bag with their name. No masks, play weapons are allowed at school.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, November 4<\/strong> – No school. Teacher Professional Development Day.<\/p>\n

Friday, November 7<\/strong> – 1\/2 day of school. Students are dismissed at 11:45 AM<\/p>\n

Peek at the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

Letter of the Week – Ii<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sight word of the week – my\u00a0\u00a0 Review – I, a, see, we, and, like.<\/p>\n

Writer’s Workshop –<\/strong> Beginning informational text – how to locate important facts in a non-fiction text.<\/p>\n

Math Workshop –<\/strong> identifying\/matching coins, patterns, identifying tricky teens, writing numbers 1-20. Counting to 30 by ones and fives. Understanding place value with cubes.<\/p>\n

Social Studies<\/strong> – Beginning in a new unit in Social Studies – How do I get what I need and want? Understanding needs and wants.<\/p>\n

Science<\/strong> – Students will take the five senses unit assessment on Monday or Tuesday.\u00a0 We will begin a new unit in Science studying physical science with gravity and force.<\/p>\n

Daily Five<\/strong> – Introduction to Listen to Reading, CAFE board strategies; recognizing lower-case letters, understanding parts of a sentence, recognizing when two words rhyme (Homework packet – “at” endings), comprehension – retelling a familiar story using the pictures.<\/p>\n

Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the ever-changing weather. Michigan weather at it’s best – Monday is suppose to be 70 degrees.<\/p>\n
