Dates to Remember<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday, May 14 – Late Start<\/strong> – students start school one hour later.<\/p>\n

Thursday, May 22 – Detroit Zoo Field Trip.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Field trip permission slips need to be turned in. Students will not be able to attend the field trip if they do not have a signed field trip permission slip.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, May 14 – Run Club<\/strong> will start up again and will end June 4. Run Club is after school from 3:40 – 4;10 p.m. Your child needs to have a permission slip to participate.<\/p>\n

Thank you to all who thought of me during Teacher Appreciation week with the pot-luck luncheon, gifts, flowers, and the many thoughtful cards and pictures that I received from your child.\u00a0 Thank you!!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Mother’s Day Tea was a wonderful event! I hope everyone is enjoying today as well. Happy Mother’s Day!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Spelling Words<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kindergarten – “et” words<\/strong> – bet, pet, get, let\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sight words – so, no, yes, like<\/p>\n

First Grade\u00a0 – “ay” words<\/strong>\u00a0 – way, stay, may, day\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sight words – any, had, put<\/p>\n

Assessments<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the week students will be tested on the District Writing Assessment – Informational and students will be tested on the District Math Common Assessment.\u00a0 In addition, I will be finishing up on the DRA reading assessment this week.<\/p>\n

Please return book bags on Monday.<\/p>\n
