Wow! I can’t believe the school year is over. I know that the past 3 months have been difficult and strange but we made it!! I want to congratulate all of you for the success of doing At Home Learning. The effort, teamwork and consistent support for your children was amazing. Everyone in our class was doing their best and I feel confident that the students kept gaining skills and knowledge throughout this process. Thank you parents and families for the support and communication during this entire school year. YOU ARE AWESOME! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
I strongly suggest that all students continue to learn and practice their skills during the summer. I reminded all of them at our last meeting that they will want to do some learning during the summer to keep their brains active and to help with the start of 5th grade. The following is a suggested summer learning list: 🖥️
- Finish Module 7 Zearn lessons and succeed pages
- Finish succeed pages from module 6 (use khan academy to watch and practice the concepts first)
- wwwixl.com ~ It is a strong possibility we will be using this site at Howard next school year. It follows the standards for each grade so it is worth the time. You can sign up for a free 30 day trial.
- www.readtheory.org ~ this is a progressive reading site that moves the students up or down depending on their scores & progress.
- www.mobymax.com ~ you can use for math or ELA.
- wwwkhanacademy.org ~ It would be great to continue with the math concepts using the videos, lesson pages and quizzes.
- Students should read a minimum of 1 chapter book per month.
Last, I copied the link for the final Howard School Blog Post you, it has a fun video and some valuable information. You can click here to access it. https://howard.dearbornschools.org/2020/06/11/end-of-year-video-message-and-reminders
My final message is that I told the students, “once your teacher, always your teacher, so if you need anything I am here for you.” And that goes for you too parents! I will miss this group of children so please come visit me next school year. 💖
Have a wonderful and safe summer!! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

Yay! We made it through this school year and I am so proud of all of you for your successes during this At Home Learning. 🌟
Due to this being the last week of school for this year we will not have any new learning this week. We are going to use this as a “catch up” week. Students can use this week to finish any incomplete assignments. If they do finish or turn in a late assignment this week please have them notify me through email so I know to look for it.
I will be posting some suggested summer learning later this week so watch for that blog post. Students can start their summer learning soon if they choose.
I hope you enjoy your day! 🌞
I loaded the Memory Book pages a second time on Google Classroom. It will say Memory Book (2nd version). Once you click on the assignment you will need to click on “open in google slides” located just above the first page. This will allow you to type on the pages. You can also print the Memory Book pages and complete them on paper if you would prefer. Then you would have a copy to keep for your 4th grade memories. Whether you do it electronically or on paper, I would like you to share some of your memories at our class meeting on Tuesday.
I posted the Khan Academy practice and review videos on Google Classroom. There are 5 videos but you do not need to do all of them today. Tomorrow is a “catch up” day so if you are all caught up then you can continue on the videos tomorrow.
Thank you students and families for the continued emails and communication. We are in the final stretch for this school year!!
Good Morning Boys and Girls! It appears there may be an issue with the formatting for typing on the memory book pages. I am looking into and will fix it. I will let you know when I repost the pages. 😊
Hello families ~ I hope you are doing well and feeling relieved with the end of the school year close in sight. I continue to feel proud of all of you for doing your best during such a difficult situation.
I have started working on report cards. As a reminder, all grades this card marking period are based on participation and submission of assignments during our At Home Learning. I would like to give a big “SHOUT OUT” to the following students for turning in their Core Democratic Values Slide Project by today’s due date: Zach, DeDe, Hamzeh, Michaiah, Hassen, Layla, Adriana, Zora, Nora, Derek, Khalil, Joelle, Lily, Nabil, Talia, Jasper. I graded them and returned them to you so you can view your score and my comments. (If you emailed it to me instead of turning it in on Google Classroom I could not return it to you) I would like to applaud the students who did an amazing job by following ALL of the directions and scoring 100%. 👏
Students ~ You will notice that for the rest of the week you will be completing a 4th Grade Memory Book. The memory book pages and instructions are loaded onto our Google Classroom. I hope you enjoy this last project as you reflect on your 4th grade year. You can share your memory books at our last class meeting next Tuesday.
I will be in touch soon! 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜
Students and Families ~ This is our last week of new learning. There is also time at the end of the week to catch up on missing work before report cards. Report cards will be finalized on June 10th. Remember this card marking is based on participation and doing your best effort. 😀
We will not have an I-Learn meeting this Tuesday. I have a busy week with extra meetings and going into Howard School to wrap up the end of the school year. I will still be available to answer questions or just to “chat” on email.
Here is our calendar for the week. As always, you can also locate it on our Google Classroom.
We are going to have a great week!! 😀
💖 Mrs Pischke
Hi everyone ~ I was at Howard School all day cleaning out desks and the classroom and then I realized I forgot to assign the math quiz so let’s just skip it! It’s already late in the day and I don’t want anyone to worry about it now. 😀
Parents ~Please remember to stop by Howard School tomorrow (Thursday) to pick up your child’s belongings. 11:30-2:30 It would be great if the students could come with you, I have something to give them!! Also, students need to return their science book, classroom books and library books tomorrow.
Have a good evening!
Students and families ~ I hope you had a great weekend and an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the warm weather! It was so good for all of us to have a long weekend and some time away from learning (and working). Please read this post regarding important information for this week.
Distribution of Student Belongingsand Returning of School Belongings on will take place Thursday, May 28th from 11:30-2:30 pm.
Students will receive personal belongings from their desks in a brown bag labeled with their name on it. If you have a specific item that you are concerned about (i.e. jacket, eyeglasses etc…), please be sure to communicate this to me. Additionally, we will be asking that students return specific school belongings back to the school on this distribution day. Our class needs to return chapter books I sent home, science book, library books, any other classroom books you may have. We will NOT be asking you to return Chromebooks at this time so please hang on to those for now. You may come to the school anytime during the 3 hour time frame (11:30-2:30 pm) on May 28th. It will be a drive-up format so please remain in your vehicles at all times. Drive-up locations around the school will be coordinated with normal after school pick-up locations. Please see below for a reminder of where to drive-up depending on the grade-level(s) of your child(ren). As a friendly reminder, parents and students are not allowed in the building for their safety so please remain in your vehicles at all times.
Next, we will have our virtual birthday celebration at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26th. We will meet as an entire class instead of our usual meeting times. Remember to get a “special” birthday treat so we can snack & chat!
