The traits are: Ideas, Organzation, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Voice, Conventions.  Throughout the year we will focus on each trait.  Currently we are focusing on IDEAS.  Following are the components of that trait.<\/p>\n<p>IDEAS<\/p>\n<p>A writer should:<\/p>\n<p>-narrow the topic to something  specific<\/p>\n<p>-use fresh, original perspective<\/p>\n<p>-when possible, write from experience<\/p>\n<p>-use important, interesting details<\/p>\n<p>Encourage your child to practice this trait when they are writing!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are using the 6 + 1 Traits of writing.
