{"id":5158,"date":"2019-02-04T15:19:33","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T20:19:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/pesci\/?p=5158"},"modified":"2019-02-04T15:19:33","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T20:19:33","slug":"homework-reminders-2-4-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/pesci\/2019\/02\/04\/homework-reminders-2-4-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Homework &#038; Reminders 2-4-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\"><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>Please complete and send back permission slip for Legoland by TOMORROW!!!\u00a0 \u00a0(Tuesday, February 5, $18 per person.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***Please bring 2 BLACK composition notebooks to school TOMORROW\u2013 we are starting spelling and need it for homework each night!!!!**<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***Please read spelling letter\u20141<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0TEST will be THIS THURSDAY (No school for kindergarten on Friday).<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Oakman Folder-Sign\u00a0and return behavior calendar for\u00a0<strong>February!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><em>Sh<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<u>WORD<\/u>\u00a0bag!Today we talked about WORDS that have a\u00a0<em>sh<\/em>\u00a0sound like, sheep, ship, shark, fish etc.\u00a0 Please find 3-5 items at home that have the\u00a0<em>sh\u00a0<\/em>sound in the WORD and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Tuesday, February 5th\u00a0 Thank you!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reading\/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to \u201cread\u201d each night and practice sight words\u2026 NEW books for reading pictures, listening and asking\/answering questions (use bookmark), finding sight words, etc. were given in see through reading bag.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, you, dog, up, on, have, said, it, she and new sight word LITTLE\u2013. ***ALL should be memorized for reading and some should be able to spell on own AND begin using to write SENTENCES!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>READING GROUP BAG\u2014&gt; read black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: \u201cFind a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the \/s\/ sound. ETC.\u201d\u00a0 Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants\u00a0blends and digraphs\u00a0in their bag\u2013 this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>Sign reading log for new books!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Math- Module 3, Lesson 10\u2014 homework helper on page 235 and DO PAGES 237-238!!!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>*****Spelling Notebook (or notebook paper if did not bring in a book yet)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monday:\u00a0<\/strong>Rainbow Spelling!\n<ul>\n<li>Write each spelling word in pencil. Now use a crayon to trace each word in that color. Pick another color and repeat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reminders:<\/p>\n<p>Please send in a school snack for February (We have 20 students in the class).<\/p>\n<p>We will have a class Valentine\u2019s Day party on the 14th so please have your child make\/buy valentine\u2019s cards to pass out to everyone in the class. We hope you all enjoyed the Superbowl weekend and had fun cheering for your favorite team.<\/p>\n<p>Since we missed a few days last week, the NWEA testing window has been extended until Wednesday. Please continue to make sure that students are getting to bed on time and eating a healthy breakfast each day.<\/p>\n<p>WIDA testing also starts this week. This is a yearly assessment for our English Language Learners in the areas of listening, reading, writing and speaking.
