                These are the spelling words your child should be practicing at home. The spelling pattern for this week is long i\u2013y. Make sure your child is doing the spelling homework in their spelling\/poetry notebook on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

                Reading: \u00a0We will be working on reading and understanding informational text. \u00a0We will focus on the special text features of informational texts including bold text, glossaries, table of contents and captions.<\/p>\n

                Writing: \u00a0We will be focusing on informational writing. \u00a0This week we will begin with writing a \u201chow to\u201d piece. \u00a0We will be writing \u201chow to make a snowman\u201d.<\/p>\n

                Math: \u00a0We will be focusing on word problems, adding and subtracting and money.<\/p>\n

                Science: \u00a0We will be learning about the properties of water: solid, liquid and gas.<\/p>\n

                Social Studies: \u00a0We are learning about locations and human and natural characteristics.<\/p>\n
