{"id":2502,"date":"2017-09-13T13:10:22","date_gmt":"2017-09-13T17:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/pesci\/?p=2502"},"modified":"2017-09-13T13:15:54","modified_gmt":"2017-09-13T17:15:54","slug":"2502","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/pesci\/2017\/09\/13\/2502\/","title":{"rendered":"Reminder and Homework 9\/13\/17"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Three Ways to Read a Book<\/h1>\n<div class=\"entry-meta\"><\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<header class=\"entry-header\"><time class=\"entry-date\" datetime=\"2017-09-12T13:21:49+00:00\"><\/time><\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Hello Families!<\/p>\n<p>Today we practiced the 3 ways to read a book.<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2026<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Read the Pictures<\/li>\n<li>Read the Words<\/li>\n<li>Retell the Story<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>First we practiced finding the front of the book to know where to begin.<\/p>\n<p>Then we practiced using the illustrations to \u201cread the pictures\u201d as we made up the story.<\/p>\n<p>We also listened a familiar story as I read the words.<\/p>\n<p>After this, we practiced retelling the familiar story together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please use a book at home to practice the 3 ways to read a book with your child!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am also sending home reading bags today.\u00a0Inside you will find name practice homework to be done daily. I included directions inside the bag too. This should be done for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Math bags were sent home as well\u2026 please use counting cubes to practice counting to 20 and touching each cube as your child counts them. \u00a0Use the number chart to practice counting to 120! \u00a0Touch each number as you say them\u2026 students should be able to count to 25 by the end of the first marking so make sure to practice for 10 minutes each night!<\/p>\n<p>The reading bag and math bag and their contents comes back to school everyday!\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<h2>PLEASE BRING A FAMILY PHOTO TO HANG UP ON OUR BOARD!!<\/h2>\n<p>Thank you for all you do!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Fowler<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three Ways to Read a Book Hello Families!
