Happenings in Room 34:<\/p>\n
Wednesday, December 16th: \u00a0 Late Start \u00a0All School Sing A Long at 2:30.<\/p>\n
Friday, December 18th: \u00a0Classroom Winter\/Holiday Party from about 1:45-2:45. \u00a0Could volunteers arrive at 1:30?<\/p>\n
Spelling: \u00a0chill, sheep, think, while, chase, chest, shape, thing, wheat, white<\/p>\n
Social Studies: \u00a03rd graders will be finishing up the History of Michigan and taking our test Monday in the computer lab.<\/p>\n
Science: \u00a02nd: \u00a0Students are studying landforms and matter.<\/p>\n
3rd: \u00a0Students are studying light and sound.<\/p>\n
Writer’s Workshop: \u00a0We are writing about some very important people in our life for our unit of narrative writing. \u00a0We are concentrating on descriptive words, sequence words, and giving examples. \u00a0Students are doing a great job!<\/p>\n
Daily 5\/Reading: \u00a0We are concentrating on using context clues to help us figure out what unknown words mean. \u00a0We are learning that sometimes the author will define the word for you and sometimes you have to use the surrounding text to help \u00a0you figure out the meaning of the word.<\/p>\n
We are learning about prefixes, suffixes, and latin root words too.<\/p>\n
Math: \u00a03rd graders are working on muliplication and division facts while 2nd graders are working on double digit addition strategies:)<\/p>\n
