{"id":123,"date":"2013-12-20T08:28:23","date_gmt":"2013-12-20T13:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/paranag\/?p=123"},"modified":"2013-12-20T08:28:23","modified_gmt":"2013-12-20T13:28:23","slug":"the-parana-post-1219","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/paranag\/2013\/12\/20\/the-parana-post-1219\/","title":{"rendered":"The Parana Post 12\/19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Families,<\/p>\n<p>I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday break. \u00a0I would also like to thank everyone for all of the wonderful thoughts, gifts, and cards. \u00a0Your children mean so much to me. \u00a0They are my school family and I think of them all of the time.<\/p>\n<p>I have sent a letter with some things you can do over the holidays to keep education going throughout the 2 week break.<\/p>\n<p>Some additional ideas are:<\/p>\n<p>Read books from the library and write a summary of what the book was about, think of questions they may have before they go on, write a letter pretending to be the character and give details about what is happening.<\/p>\n<p>Math: \u00a0In addition to the ideas in the note sent home you can play addition top it with your children. \u00a0Take a deck of cards. \u00a0Player 1 takes 2 cards and adds them. \u00a0Player 2 takes 2 cards and says the answer. \u00a0Whoever has the greater answer gets to keep all the cards. \u00a0Play until all the cards are gone. \u00a0The person with the most cards wins.<\/p>\n<p>Practice 2 digit addition with regrouping\/trading.<\/p>\n<p>Writing:<\/p>\n<p>Write a thank you note to Santa and anyone else that gave a gift.<\/p>\n<p>Write about your favorite things to do in the winter.<\/p>\n<p>Complete the snowman writing project due on January 6th.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great break! \u00a0Thank you for everything!<\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<\/p>\n<p>Gina Parana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Families, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday break. \u00a0I would also like to thank everyone for all of the wonderful thoughts, gifts, and cards. \u00a0Your children mean so much to me. \u00a0They are my school family and I think of them all of the time.
