{"id":87,"date":"2018-10-28T19:30:33","date_gmt":"2018-10-28T23:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/palonis\/?p=87"},"modified":"2018-10-28T19:30:33","modified_gmt":"2018-10-28T23:30:33","slug":"last-week-in-review-and-this-weeks-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/palonis\/2018\/10\/28\/last-week-in-review-and-this-weeks-preview\/","title":{"rendered":"Last Week in Review and This Week&#8217;s Preview!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good evening, everyone!<\/p>\n<p>Last week we created NewsELA accounts and started working on the article of the week online.\u00a0 This week, I hope we can finish the article on Monday during class so we can get this week&#8217;s article going!<\/p>\n<p>We also finished reading, &#8220;The Monkey&#8217;s Paw&#8221; and the two activities for the story; the plot diagram and poster.\u00a0 Posters will be graded and posted in the classroom this week.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday and Friday, we started digging into Unit Two&#8217;s topic: Stereotypes.\u00a0 We had a lot of fun with the bell work and circle map!!\u00a0 We also started watching the documentary, &#8220;We&#8217;re Not White&#8221; on Friday.\u00a0 If you missed class on Friday, you can find the video here:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;We&#039;re Not White&quot; - a film by Amer Zahr\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jJ08l2mUu-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Each class got about 20 minutes into the film.\u00a0 I plan to finish it tomorrow (10\/29\/18).\u00a0 We will be working on argument writing and will be using the notetaker I passed out to you as a guide.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, this week will be full of writing!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the rest of your night!\u00a0 See you guys tomorrow!<\/p>\n<p>-Miss P.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good evening, everyone!
